'I believe that Villeroy & Boch needs to start focusing on the world outside, and then implement the topic inside the company.'

Villeroy & Boch has always supported artists throughout its long history.
Among them are then-unknown artists such as
Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse, Cézanne and Toulouse-Lautrec.

Van Gogh

The painters Eugen and Anna Boch met Vincent van Gogh around 1888. A vivid exchange between them influenced Villeroy & Boch's products in that era. Van Gogh painted a portrait of his friend Eugen with the symbolic title “The Poet”, which can be seen in the Musée d’Orsay.

Luigi Colani

In the mid 70s, Colani revolutionized the whole industry with a bathroom concept for Villeroy & Boch. He came up with the first consistent design concept including all elements of the bathroom.

Henry van de Velde

The cofounder of Bauhaus, Henry van de Velde, created products for Villeroy & Boch at the turn of the century that characterized the artistic language of Villeroy & Boch’s product range in the 20s and 30s.
